A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Receiving a sewing machine for my sixteenth birthday was where my love for all things interiors began. From putting rooms schemes together, choosing colours, accessorising, fabric selection and ultimately creating the finishing touches through soft furnishings, I just loved it all.
A career in marketing meant this has all been a passion and hobby. Skip forward several years and the first Covid lockdown triggered a spark into making a career out of this passion.
Lockdown gave me headspace and time to reflect on my future and I took the plunge and embarked on a professional curtain making course. Just one week after the end of that course Amanda Bixby Interiors was born and I waved goodbye to corporate marketing.

I am fortunate to be able to work from a gorgeous barn on a working farm close to the lovely village of Elstead, not far from my home in the beautiful market town of Farnham, West Surrey. I travel to clients in Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, West London plus consult virtually for those further afield where projects are sent for self measuring and fitting. I also work with a number of talented interiors designers, project managers and design consultants.
I am proud of how the business has grown and established so quickly and never cease to get pleasure out of each and every project. I thrive on the variety and challenge of each product I handcraft and gain such satisfaction on install day, when I see a room transformed and a delighted client.

I fully admit I am not a visual person. I needed help completing my newly decorated bedroom with soft furnishings but didn’t know where to start with colour or style. Amanda provided clever and alternative curtain ideas and we had a lovely fabric choosing session. I ended up with a curtain heading style I never knew existed which I simply adore and suits my rural property. The curtains are made to perfection. Simply gorgeous!
