Curtains and blinds can have so many different purposes in a home. You may want them to block out light or let it filter through, provide warmth and cosiness, privacy, colour and to enhance a room design. Or all of the above.
Then there are the fabrics to choose and the hardware and the overall finish.
This is then followed by additional soft furnishings in the form of scatter cushions, headboards, and lampshades. You may have a favourite chair or footstool that needs recovering.
Whatever your requirements are, I have a solution for you – traditional or contemporary, eye catching, understated or somewhere in between.
CURTAINSH
A big decision. A big investment.
Professionally made, hand-sewn and hand-headed with great care and attention. Your curtains will be bespoke to suit you, your window and your home.
From traditional handmade triple or double pinch pleats and cottage and cartridge pleats, to more contemporary eyelet and wave, the choice of headings is a crucial design choice to suit your space, style and fabric choice.
You can opt for one fabric for the face of your curtain or add a vertical and/or horizontal border in a contrast or a textured fabric or a braid, fan edge or pom pom.
For a period property a pelmet is a great design choice for an elegant, neat and smart finish.
BLINDSH
A popular elegant choice and a great alternative to curtains. Your blind will be hand-sewn with no visible outside stitching, with good quality lining or blackout lining and interlining as standard.
Like curtains you can combine with vertical and/or horizontal borders in proportion to the size of you blind or include a pom-pom or braid trim for a truly bespoke finish.
I can advise on the most suitable blind size to suit your window, whether a cascade or stacked fold finish, fitted inside or outside the window recess, above or below the ceiling junction, sized to avoid window openings and obstructions whilst allowing light into a room and providing privacy.
Each solution is practical yet tailored to suit your tastes whilst ensuring your blind is robust, beautifully made and will last for many many years.
Your blinds are supplied mounted on high quality made to measure cassettes with a choice of chain colours and fully comply with child safety regulations.

FABRICSH
Often the most overwhelming part.
I can walk you through the options that will work best for your window treatment and room design with fabrics that lend themselves to curtains and blinds. Some fabrics are more suitable for curtains as they create a beautiful drape and sumptuous finish whilst others create crisp neat roman blind folds.
I have an extensive fabric library of good quality fabrics including Sanderson, Linwood, Barneby Gates, Sarah Hardaker, Charlotte Gaisdord, James Hare, Zoe Glenross, Ralph Lauren, Kate Foreman, Rapture & Wright, Lewis & Wood, Peony & Sage, Clarke & Clarke, Zoffany, Blithfield, Romo, Ian Mankin and many more plus and a collection of recycled fabrics and British made fabrics. Following the initial home consultation, you are welcome to view the fabric library at my work barn or I can return to your home to do it onsite.
Your curtains and blinds will be made in three layers: your chosen face fabric, a luxurious thick interlining and a high quality back visible lining to produce that gorgeous plush and heavy feel as well as keeping out those drafts and morning sun.

Lampshades
These can be made up in a variety of sizes and shapes with standard, gold, bronze or blush insides.
Cushions
Using co-ordinating fabrics and textures, I help design unique scatter cushion covers, with a variety of closings, trims and sizes using good quality heavy filled curled duck feather or for my vegan clients, a synthetic alternative.
Boxed cushions for outdoor garden furniture or indoor kitchen seats, bench or window seats can really soften and provide pops of colour to your furniture and room scheme.
Lampshades
Poles & Tracks
Equally as important as the window dressing itself. Your pole or track needs to compliment your curtain and room design, be equally as stunning but be robust and practical at the same time. I can advise and provide hand finished timber or metal poles; discreet, slimline tracks; electric or voice activated mechanisms, all in a wide choice of colours.
